Enjoy the pleasant stroll from our door to all of the unique and wonderful shopping possibilities in Littleton. Littleton boasts the best shopping North of Franconia Notch. The variety of unique stores along historic Main Street includes gourmet kitchen supplies, natural and organic foods, an amazing book store, designer furniture, antiques, the oldest ski shop in America, as well as hand crafted items by New Hampshire artisans and an old-fashioned general store with the longest candy counter in the world. There are larger retail "box" stores on the edge of town, but Main Street is where you'll find wheat from local farms, ground in an 18th century water powered Grist Mill, Antiques from the 18th to the 20th century and, a real Diner, one of the last in the country. Littleton is a shopper's paradise, just steps from our door. You'll soon see why Littleton continues to win raves as a Main Street Community. Spend the day visiting the many antique shops in the area, Or, branch out and tour the scenic White Mountains, a four season playground with some of the most beautiful scenery anywhere. You'll find trails and hikes suitable for all. A quick jaunt up an easy trail with a rewarding view? We'll tell you where to find it! Looking to cross another 4,000 footer off of your list? We can help there too. Maybe a tour stopping at all of the Grand Hotels  Cog Railway Hiking, Biking, Horseback Riding, Skiing, Swimming, Boating, outdoors or in, chances are you'll run out of energy before you run out of things to do.

Winter offers fun for all and the Beal House is the perfect spot to make your home base while adventuring.

For Skiers and Boarders, areas close by include Cannon Mt. Just a ten minute drive from our door, Cannon is Sate owned and affordable,( no condos!) and ski-bunnies most definitely need not apply. Local legend Bode Miller learned to ski here and just a few runs will let you know why folks say, "if you can ski Cannon, you can ski anywhere!"  A half hours drive away is the more family freindly Bretton Woods With terrain for all levels and plenty of amenities. A twenty minute drive south on I-93 brings you to Loon with their trademark gondolas. Other ski areas less than an hours drive away include Attitash, Wildcat, Cranmore and Burke. If you're headed South on your way home, leave early and stop in for a few runs at Gunstock. If you're headed back to Canada, a quick side trip to Jay Peak is well worth it.

Many of these areas also feature  Nordic trails and many have snowshoeing as well. In fact, if Cross County is your thing, you'll find an amazing variety of choices close by.

Of course the more adventerous might want to take advantage of the trails available for snowshoeing in the White Mountain National Forrest, which begins a few short miles from our door.

Maybe you like your winter fun a little faster? The North Country of New Hampshire is a smowmachiners paradise! Local clubs are VERY active and they do a great job of keeping the trails groomed and ready for fun! The State of New Hampshire is heavily involved, and don't forget; Littleton borders Vermont. You'll find they have alot to offer as well.
